Mom's Birthday Dinner FOTN!

We like to keep birthdays pretty simple in our family. A nice dinner, some delicious dessert, and lots of family time! My mom's birthday was this past Friday so I thought I'd give you guys a little sneak peek into me getting ready. I decided to have a little fun and play around with my makeup using a new palette I recently picked up. Hope you enjoy!

Step 1: Primer + Foundation
First, I applied a layer of my much-loved Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer. I've talked about this a million times, but it is THE best. Next, I applied my new Marc Jacobs Genius Gel foundation all over my face and blended it down my neck. My favorite way to apply my foundation is with a beauty blender. I can't stop wearing this foundation. It makes me look flawless but it's not heavy in any way! I am doing a full review on this soon!

Step 2: Concealer + Setting Spray

Next, I applied concealer. I used the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Dark Spot Eraser on any dark spots and breakouts. I took my NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer under my eyes, in the center of my chin, on my cupid's bow, across the bridge of my nose, and in the center of my forehead to highlight those areas. I then set all those liquid products with the Urban Decay All-Nighter Setting Spray. To set my concealer, I applied my favorite Laura Mercier Secret Brightening Powder. It's a translucent powder with very fine shimmer and it brightens really nicely. You can read a full review here.

Step 3: Blush + Bronzer

I took my all time favorite NARS Laguna Bronzer and placed that in the hollows of my cheeks to contour my face a bit. I also placed it on my temples and along the jawline. I took this gorgeous Revlon Berry Flirtatious Cream Blush and swiped in on the cheeks!

Step 4: Eyeshadow!

This is where I decided to have a little fun. I recently hauled this Lorac Stylist Palette in my Fall Hall, which you can read here! I found it on Nordstorm Rack for only $15! The colors are so pretty for fall! I did drop it and unfortunately the last shadow there on the left broke a little, so just ignore that! I packed the smokey blue gray all across my lid. I then applied the lighter brown shade all through my crease, followed by placing the matte black in my outer corner. I then took a clean blending brush and blended everything out really nicely. I forgot to label this on the photo, but I took the black and placed it on the lower lash line and then took a blending brush to smoke it out. I finished the look off by placing the highlight color in my inner corner and on the brow bone.

Step 5: Liner + Brows + Mascara
I applied my Maybellirne Gel Liner, which is very well loved, along my upper lash line and winged it out. I filled in my brows with my Anatasia Perfect Brow Pencil in soft brown. I finished everything off with 2 coats of the Lancome Hypnose Doll Lashes. I love this mascara for volume!

Step 6: Lips

Since I went bolder with my eye makeup, I definitely wanted to keep it more neutral with my lips. This is my new favorite, favorite lipstick. I seriously wear it non-stop. This is the Urban Decay Revolution Lipstick in "Rush". I featured this is my Fall Favorite Lipsticks post, and you can read that here.

And finished....

I really loved this look and hope you did too! Thank for reading and have an AMAZING day!

Paige

Review: Rimmel Show Off Lip Lacquers

Happy Monday! Mondays aren't my favorite but I thought I'd add a little spunk and cheer into my Monday by reviewing one of my favorite new lip products. You may have seen these Rimmel Show-Offs in my recent Drugstore Haul post and also in my Fall Favorite Lipsticks post. I wanted to do a full review of these products to tell you just why I love them so very much.

(top to bottom: Comet, Solstice, and Luna)

Product Rundown

Price: $4.99 USD

These are marketed as lip products that have the pigmentation of a lipstick and the shine of a lip lacquer. The formula is supposed to be creamy and conditioning for comfortable long-lasting wear. They are called the Rimmel Apocalips in the UK (which is a way cooler name, by the way).
(top to bottom: Comet, Solstice, and Luna)

My Thoughts

The pigmentation is better than I even would have expected. These apply like smooth, creamy, super-pigmented lip glosses, and then they set to a creamy, moisturizing lipstick consistency. They feel very nice on the lips and they do have a really nice shine to them so that a lip gloss over top is not needed. These lip products last fairly well throughout the day. If you eat or drink, they definitely would need to be touched up. The price is pretty darn good as well. Many drugstore lip products range between $8-$10.

Another thing that I really love about this product is the applicator. It's a doe foot applicator with a bit of a twist. It has a little divot on the one side that holds the product. It carries the perfect amount of product to cover your lips so that you don't have to keep dipping the applicator back into the tube. The applicator is also slightly tapered at the end which makes it super easy to get the thinner, corner edges of the lips. This applicator makes the product so easy and effortless to apply!  I had a little bit of a difficult time finding this product at any of my drugstores, but finally stumbled upon it at Walgreens. So check there if you haven't been able to get your hands on these!

I'm really loving these at the moment and can't wait to try out some more shades. I totally recommend this product and would definitely repurchase! Thanks for reading, and I hope you have an amazing day!

Paige

Quick, Simple, and Natural FOTD!

On a day-to-day basis, I like to keep my makeup relatively simple. This is one of my favorite everyday go-to looks. It's quick, easy, and natural. This everyday makeup will feature neutral eyes, mascara, a little foundation, blush, and a neutral lip!

Step 1: Prime + Apply Foundation

I take a pea-sized amount of my favorite Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer (seriously, this stuff is amazing) and follow up with a thin layer of Marc Jacobs Genius Gel foundation (Beige Light). My favorite way to apply this foundation is with a beauty blender. This is quickly becoming the best foundation I have ever tried. I will be putting up a full review soon!

Step 2: Conceal

Next, I conceal my dark circles and highlight my face. I apply this Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Dark Circle concealer in an upside down triangle under my eyes, on the center of chin and forehead, and on the cupids bow. This gives nice dimension to the face and really awakens the skin. I set the concealer with the bareMineals Well-Rested powder which is a brightening powder. This adds more brightness and prevents the concealer from creasing!

Step 3: Set Foundation + Fill in Brows

I set my foundation so that it lasts all day long with the Urban Decay All Nighter setting spray. Next, I fill in my brows with the Anatasia Beverly Hills Perfect Brow Pencil (soft brown).

Step 4: Apply Blush and Bronzer

I then applied NARS Laguna bronzer in the hollows of my cheeks, on my temples, and along the jawline. This adds lots of dimension to the face. Next I placed this Revlon Cream Blush in Berry Flirtatious onto the apples of my cheek for a nice flush. I love these cream blushes. They blend out so nicely and turn from a cream to a powder finish. They're amazing drugstore blushes!

Step 5: Apply Eye Shadow

This is my go-to super quick eye shadow look. This seriously takes less than 2 minutes and adds a perfect amount of definition to the eyes! I just use a big fluffy crease brush for most of the look. I use the Urban Decay Basics palette for this. I take WOS (pale pink shade) and sweep it all over the lid. I then apply Naked 2 and MAC soft brown through the crease to contour the eye and add depth. Next, I highlight the brow bone with Foxy and highlight the inner corner of the eye with Venus. I take an angled brush and use Faint to define the lower lash line. Super easy!

Step 6: Apply Mascara

To finish off the eyes, I load up with some mascara. I apply one coat of the YSL Babydoll mascara, which is probably the best mascara I have ever used. I apply this to both the top and bottom lashes. I then apply a coat of the Lancome Hypnose Doll Lashes which is another favorite and it add amazing volume! This is my all-time favorite mascara combo. When my eye shadow is really simple, and I'm not wearing liner, I like to focus on the lashes and really make them look big and bold!

Step 7: Lips

For lips, I applied my new absolute favorite lipstick! This is the Urban Decay Revolution Lipstick in Rush. These lipsticks apply like a dream. They are so smooth and moisturizing and so easy to wear!

And done! This is my favorite quick makeup look of the moment!

Nails + Perfume
For nails, I applied OPI Black Onyx and finished with a coat of the Seche Vite top coat! I will forever love black nail polish.

For my scent, I used Viktor and Rolf Flower Bomb. I am obsessed with this perfume. It's like a floral explosion!

I hope you enjoyed this Face of the Day post. I used lots of products from my recent Fall Haul, and if you want to read that then just click here. For my last Face of the Day post, click here. Thanks so much for reading! I have lots of fun post coming the next few weeks. I hope you have an amazing day!

Fall Haul: Beauty + Random

I have been on quite the shopping extravaganza these past few months. The fall brings out the shopaholic in me! Even though I have two recent hauls posted, I couldn't resist putting up one more. I bought some amazing stuff that I just had to share! This haul will feature some high-end products, drugstore prodcuts, plus a few other little fun bits that I threw in. This is going to be a long one so let's get to it...

Beauty

1. Marc Jacobs Genius Gel foundation (Beige Light)
Have I mentioned that I am addicted to buying foundation? Uh, yes. I tried to resist but my efforts were futile. I've read amazing reviews about this foundation. I have been wearing this non-stop since I bought it. I am in love. I will do a full review of this very soon!

2. bareMinerals concealer in "Well-Rested"
My pesky dark under eye circles have me searching the ends of the earth for the best products to conceal them. This well-rested concealer is a brightening powder that is supposed to work miracles. I haven't got a chance to play around with it all that much. Review is coming soon once I try out!

3. Anatasia Perfect Brow Pencil (Soft Brown)
Anastasia is known for their amazing brow products and I have been dying to try one of their brow pencils. I have been loving this so far!

4. Urban Decay All-Nighter setting spray
Setting sprays are my favorite way to set my foundation. With my dryer skin, powders easily cake up on me. This is my current fave!

5. Urban Decay Revolution Lipstick in Rush
I featured this gorgeous lipstick in my last post, which was my favorite fall lipsticks (read that post here)! This has very quickly become one of my all-time favorite lipsticks. The formula is so smooth and slightly shiny. The color is perfect for my skin tone.

6. Lorac The Stylist palette
This was a huge score! I found this at Nordstrom Rack for only $15! These colors are so gorgeous for fall. The shadows are super buttery soft and the pigmentation is great. I can't wait to play around with this.

7. Wet n' Wild eyeshadow in "Nutty"
Wet n' Wild shadows are THE best eye shadows at the drugstore and they are so cheap. They perform as well as any of my high end shadows. If you're looking for amazing shadows on a budget, definitely go for Wet n' Wild! I saw Leighannsays use this in one of her youtube videos (check out her amazing channel here) and ran out to get it the exact same day. I have been wearing this like every single day since I picked up. It's great for fall!

8. Revlon Cream Blush in "Berry Flirtatious" (18)

I have been on the hunt for some pretty blushes for fall to be featured in an upcoming post. This one immediately caught my eye. This berry color is gorgeous!

9. Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Dark Circle Eraser (light)
This a repurchased product. This is one of the best drugstore concealers I have tried for dark circles!

10. Lip Liners: Covergirl "Beloved" (225), NYX "Red" (11), NYX "Plum" (16)
I'm loving all these lip liners. The NYX "Red" is a really nice universal red that would work under many red lipsticks. NYX "Plum" is perfect under MAC Rebel lipstick, which is one of my favorites for fall (see my Fall-inspired FOTD here).

11. Revlon Super Lustrous lip gloss in "Super Natural" (215)

These Revlon Super Lustrous lip glosses are my favorite at the drugstore. I needed a new nude lip gloss and this one is lovely!

12. NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in "Milk"
I have been meaning to pick this up forever. This is the perfect base for colorful eye shadow looks! It really allows the colors to pop. I can't wait to use it!

13. OPI Nail Polish in "You Don't Know Jacques" and "Black Onyx"
I am obsessed with dark nail polish. I couldn't resist these!

14. Sally Hansen nail polish in "Gold Roses" (817)
Oh my goodness, this may be the most gorgeous nail polish of all time. It is the best rose gold nail polish that I have come across!

15. Seche Vite Dry Fast Topcoat
I have been using the Essie top coat for a few months and I am just not happy with it. I heard great things about this so I decided to give it a try. I will post a review in the coming weeks!

16. Not Your Mother's Clean Freak Refreshing Dry Shampoo
Dry shampoo is one of my favorite things, ever. I have yet to find the perfect one and this one looked interesting. I'm so excited to try!

Random

1. Yankee Candle in "Harvest"
This is currently burning away right next to me as I write this post. Yankee Candles are some of my favorites and this one is spicy and warm and oh-so-fall. LOVE!

2. Beanies
Target has some of the cutest beanies out right now! I may have went a little crazy BUT these are so adorable.

3. Nike Running Shoes
HOW CUTE ARE THESE? I got an amazing deal on these babies at Nordstrom Rack! These gorgeous shoes are helping me get back on my workout grind! They are so lightweight and so comfy.

Phewww. That was a lengthy post. I hope you enjoyed and maybe got some fall inspiration! Lots of reviews are coming soon! Have an amazing day!!
